Dr. Francis Chapman Sapara-Grant
Francis is an economist with over eighteen (18) years’ experience in the management of pension schemes for workers in both the formal and informal sectors of the Ghanaian economy. He holds a PhD in Economics from the St. Petersburg State Engineering Economic University in Russia.
Prior to his appointment as the General Manager of Glico Pensions Trustee Limited, Francis was the Managing Director of SSNIT Informal Sector Fund (SISF), a subsidiary company of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and was responsible for overseeing the technical, operational, financial and managerial development of the Fund.
He also served as Pensions Expert in a team that developed a pension scheme for members of the Cocoa Abrabopa Association, an association of over 25,000 cocoa farmers in Ghana and was appointed the Technical Consultant by CAA Pension Trust in 2011 to oversee implementation of the Cocoa Abrabopa Pension Scheme (CAPS).
Dr. Sapara-Grant was a member of the implementation Sub-Committee on the Informal Sector of the Presidential Commission on Pensions that designed the three-tier pension scheme for Ghana. He is currently the Technical Chair of the National Committee on the Informal Economy.
