Mr. Mark Kwaku Obeng-Appau
Mark is the Co-founder and the Executive President of the Orange Capital Microfinance Company Limited. He’s also the Founding and Managing Partner of the Logic of Logic Consulting Company and consults concurrently for the Johannesburg based consulting firm, Equilibrium as a Consulting Partner.
Kwaku Obeng-Appau is a seasoned Investment Banker, an Entrepreneur, a Policy Analyst, a Motivational Public Speaker, and a Business Strategist. He has 16 years of grounded and tremendous experience in the financial services industry; including banking and nonbanking, the private sector, and the energy-utility sector.
In collaboration with Equilibrium Consulting Pty, South Africa, Mark has consulted for a number of South African based conglomerates including Tshwane Rapid Transport (TRP) in Pretoria and Great North Transport (GNT) in Limpopo.
Obeng-Appau was a core pioneer member of the UT Group and worked for UT Bank Ghana in various senior capacities and became the Country Director for UT South Africa (Pty) Ltd. He worked also for New Jersey’s energy giant, Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) as a Financial Analyst, USA, and had a short stint but an interesting working experience with Union Bank for Africa (UBA).
Kwaku Obeng-Appau has some doctoral courses in development policy at Wits University, Johannesburg, one of South Africa’s elite schools and looks into the emerging concept of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa); Regional Economic & Monetary Integration, International trade issues, international relation and multilateralism. He holds an MBA with specialty in Banking & Finance from the University of Wales, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Commerce (Bcom) degree from the University of Cape Coast.
Obeng-Appau is a sportsman, a warm person; he’s a teacher, he’s excited by leadership and he’s congenitally a wonderful public speaker.
